Ekushey Award winning director Salahuddin Zaki no more

Ekushey Award winning Director Syed Salahuddin Zaki has passed away. He was 77.

He breathed his last at 11:53pm on Monday at United Hospital in Dhaka. 

Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Channel i, confirmed his death to the media.

The director had one son and one daughter, both of whom live in Canada. It is known that a decision will be taken about his burial after their return to the country.

Source said, Zaki’s physical condition suddenly deteriorated after 10pm and was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Zaki was born on August 26, 1946. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Dialogue for the film Ghuddi which was released in 1980. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2021.
