Three people were killed and at least seven others injured in a road accident in Chandina upazila of Cumilla on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 35, a resident of Ganipur village, and Bahram Mia, 60, of Harikhola Bedepalli in the upazila and Abul Kalam, 38, of Kurchap area in Debidwar upazila.
A bus overturned on the road and fell on two pedestrians in Harikhola area on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway around 9:45 am after its driver lost control over steering to save a motorcycle, Eliotganj Highway Police Outpost sergeant Nazmul Huda told Jago News.
The two pedestrians died on the spot and eight others, including the motorcyclist, received injuries in the incident, Nazmul said, adding that the biker among the injured passed away on the way to hospital.
