Three more victims of the gas cylinder explosion in a fishing trawler in Cox's Bazar town died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, Chattogram on Tuesday.
With this, the death toll from the blast increased to five.
The three deceased were Rahim Ullah, 30, Arman, 22, and Shahin, 35.
They passed away between the early hours and this noon while undergoing treatment at CMCH, the facility Director Brigadier General Md Shahim Ahsan told Jago News.
Of the dead, around 90 percent of Rahim's body, 70 percent of Arman's body and 60 percent of Shahin's body were burnt respectively, he added.
Earlier, two victims named Usman Gani, and Aiyub Ali, 48, died at the hospital.
Cox's Bazar district fishing boat owners association's organizing secretary Mostaq Ahmed said the incident took in a fishing trawler in the area adjacent to 6 No. Jetty of the town on Saturday but he could not say anything about the causes of the explosion.
After the incident, the injured were taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.
The hospital resident medical officer (RMO) Dr Ashiqur Rahman had said 12 people were brought here with burn injuries and after primary treatment, 10 of them were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment as their body's around 70 percent were burnt.
