Bangladeshi non-profit organization Jaago Foundation’s founder, Korvi Rakhsand, has been named as one of the recipients of the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Awards in the Emergent Leadership category.
The official declaration of this honour was made on Thursday.
The formal bestowal of the awards is scheduled to take place at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila, Philippines, on November 11.
This year, four individuals from different categories were nominated for the awards. The other recipients are Ravi Kannan from India, Miriam Coronel-Ferrer from the Philippines, Eugenio Lemos from Timor-Leste,
So far, 13 Bangladeshis have received the prestigious award, which is regarded as Asia's equivalent to the Nobel Prize.
