Bangladesh Bank (BB) has suspended certificates of seven money changers in Dhaka for buying and selling dollars at a higher price than that fixed by the central bank.
The money changers are York Money Exchange, Zaman Money Changing House, Jenny Money Exchange Limited, Standard Money Exchange, Marsi Money Exchange, JB Money Exchange, and Bengal Money Exchange.
The bank also sought explanations from 10 other money changers for the same reasons.
BB's Foreign Exchange Inspection Department took the decision, the central bank's spokesperson Md Mezbaul Haque said on Wednesday.
