Kazi Shahed Ahmed, the publisher and editor of now defunct Ajker Kagoj newspaper, died at a Dhaka hospital at the age of 82 on Monday evening.
His son and the publisher of Bangla Tribune and Dhaka Tribune Kazi Anis Ahmed confirmed his father’s death to Jago News.
Kazi Shahed is also the founder of the Gemcon Group and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
He was born in Jashore on November 7, 1940. After completing engineering degree, he joined Bangladesh Army and served for 14 years. He started his business career in 1979.
‘Amar Lekha’, ‘Ghore Agun Legeche’, ‘Bhairab’, ‘Pasha’ ‘Datey Kata Pencil’ and ‘Opekkha’ are his renowned books and novels.
His autobiography named ‘Jiboner Shilalipi’ was published in 2014.
His first novel ‘Bhairab’ has been translated into English.
