Police have pressed charges against the driver of a 'Victor Classic Paribahan' bus and his assistant in a case over the death of a private university female student in Dhaka.
Investigation officer and Bhatara Police Station sub-inspector Al Imam Rajan submitted the chargesheet against driver Ariful Islam and his assistant Abul Khayer the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam on Sunday.
The official also sought acquittal for another driver, Liton, from the charges as he was not found guilty in the investigation.
Earlier on January 22, a bus of 'Victor Classic Paribahan' hit Nadia, 19, a first-year student of the Pharmacy department at Northern University Bangladesh (NUB), in front of Jamuna Future Park, leaving her dead on the spot.
