Quader for wiping out poisonous trees of communalism from country

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday urged to wipe out the poisonous trees of the communal forces for developing a modern and civilized nation, reports BSS.

“We have to eliminate the poisonous trees of the communal forces from the country by motivating with the non-communal spirit inspired with the ideology of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam”, he said.

The ruling party leader said this while replying to the query of a journalist after paying tribute at the graveyard of the National Poet of his 47th death anniversary in the capital.

 Quader added: “Communalism is still a hindrance on the way of progress and growth of an independent nation…so, we have to be united against these evil forces.”

To mark the day, the senior ruling party leader urged those people who are truly Bangalees would have to be motivated with the non-communal spirit, adding “we will have to pledge on the day that we must have to wipe out the poisonous trees of the communalism under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina”.

Remembering the incidents occurred in the month of August, the minister said it is a tragic period for the Bengali nation, even national poet  Kazi Nazrul Islam also passed  away during this month. The poet will remain in our heart forever”, he told the journalists.

“Nazrul is still relevant to us and even was in before”, he noted.  

Earlier,  Quader at first paid tribute on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the grave of the National Poet at Dhaka University, and later  along with the central leaders on behalf of the ruling Awami League.

Awami League presidium member Kazi Jafar Ullah, Dr Mostafa Jalal Mahiuddin and Shahjahan Khan, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Ahmad Hossain, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, among others, were present.
