Mushtaq resigns from Motijheel Ideal governing body

Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed, a donor member of the board of governors of Ideal School & College, Motijheel, Dhaka has resigned from his position.

He submitted his resignation letter to the president of the governing body showing personal reason on Thursday, he himself told the media on Saturday. 

Confirming getting the resignation letter, the board of directors President, and Posts and Telecommunication Division Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said it will be accepted and a final decision be taken in this regard in the next meeting.

Earlier on August 17, the High Court granted a six-week anticipatory bail to Mushtaq in a case filed for allegedly forcibly marrying a student of Class-11 of Ideal School & College, Motijheel.

The court also ordered to take the student into safe custody.

On August 1, the father of the victim filed a case accusing Mushtaq of luring her and marrying and forcibly raping her.

The case statement said accused Mushtaq used to come to Ideal School and College, Motijheel on different pretexts and call the student to the principal's room from class.

He on different occasions lured her and gave her indecent proposal.

When she refused the proposal, he threatened to pick up and forcefully marry her.
