The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to raise the price of gold by Tk 2,222 to Tk 1,01,244 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
It is the highest price of gold as of Thursday (August 24). Earlier on July 20, the price of gold hit the second highest record of Tk 1,00,778 per bhori.
Now, gold of 22-carat will cost Tk 1,01,244 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat Tk 96,636, 18-carat Tk 82,814, and gold of traditional method Tk 69,051 respectively.
BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring took the decision in a meeting on Thursday, a press release said.
The new prices will come into effect from Friday (August 25).
