Social media content creator Ashraful Hossain Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, has filed a defamation case of Tk 50 crore against BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi for his ‘defamatory’ remarks about him.
He filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam on Monday.
The court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and ordered the Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police to submit a report after investigation.
His lawyer Abdullah Munsur Ripon confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Hero Alom on Sunday said that he visited the DB office to lodge a complaint against the BNP leader but the DB chief advised him to file a case with the court.
On July 18, Rizvi rebuked Hero Alom branding him ‘uneducated’ while addressing the march programme of BNP at Bhuban Mohon Shaheed Minar in Rajshahi.
