At least three people including, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, were killed as the three-wheeler carrying them collided with an unidentified vehicle at Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi early Thursday.
"A 25-year-old CNG driver Nasir Uddin died on the spot as the accident happened at midnight," said M Abu Khayer, sub-inspector (SI) of Itakhola Highway Police outpost.
Critically injured other two CNG passengers - Shahin Hosen, 28, son of M Rukon Uddin of Palpara area of Shibpur and Jeorge Mia, 23, son of M Nazrul Islam of Kamrgaon area, were declared dead when they were taken to 100-bed Narshingdi district hospital immediately after the accident.
Highway police sources said the CNG-run auto-rickshaw had a collision with an unidentified vehicle while moving towards Itakhola.
A fire service and highway police team reached the spot immediately after the accident and recovered the body of the CNG driver.
