US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas is holding a meeting with Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader at the party’s central office in the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue on Thursday.
The meeting started at 11:15am.
AL presidium member Md Faruk Khan, international affairs secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed, office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, information and research affairs secretary Dr Selim Mahmud and central executive member Mohammad A Arafat were, among others, present during this time.
Earlier on Tuesday, Peter Haas met Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal at Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka’s Agargaon.
US ambassador said his country wants to send a pre-assessment election monitoring team to Bangladesh in October. The experts from National Democratic Institute and International Institute will be in this team.
