The High Court has granted bail to BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury in a case over the clash between BNP men and police at Dholaikhal in Old Dhaka.
An HC bench passed the order on Tuesday.
Earlier on Sunday, sub-inspector Nasir Uddin Hawlader of Sutrapur Police Station, Dhaka filed the case against 24 named and 300-400 unnamed BNP leaders and activists over the clash at Dholaikhal.
BNP's Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam Azad and Central Executive Committee member Nipun Roy are among the accused.
On Saturday, the leaders and activists of BNP locked into a clash with police at Dholaikhal intersection after they started their sit-in program there.
Police fired tear gas at the BNP men to foil their program. In reply, the party activists hurled brick-chips to the law enforcers.
Later, police detained Gayeshwar Chandra Roy from there around 12 noon and later, released him.
