Eight dengue patients died and 2,731 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am).
With the latest death, a total of 247 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 9,418 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 5,147 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,271 are in other divisions.
As many as 49,138 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 39,473 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
