Aman picked up from Gabtoli

BNP’s Dhaka north city unit convener Aman Ullah Aman was picked up by police from the party’s sit-in programme at Gabtoli in the capital on Saturday.

He was taken by a police van from there around 11:45am.

Earlier, the BNP leaders and activists led by Aman gathered there to begin their programme around 11am. The ruling Awami League (AL) men also took position there and handed over several BNP activists to police.

Hearing the news, Aman went to talk to police over the matter and he was asked to leave the place with his activists within 5 minutes. At one stage, BNP men locked into a clash with AL and police. At that time, Aman lost his conscious and fell on the road. Later, police took him by a car from there.

However, BNP also locked into clashes in Dholaikhal, Uttara, Matuail in the capital.

BNP on Friday announced that it will hold sit-in programmes at all entry points of Dhaka from 11am to 4pm today.

DMP Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq earlier said BNP and Awami League were not allowed to hold sit-in programmes in the capital on Saturday.
