BNP has deferred its previously announced Thursday's grand rally to Friday in Dhaka as it is unwilling to hold the program at Golapbagh ground in the capital.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press conference at the party chairperson's political office at Gulshan on Wednesday night.
He said the rally will be held in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office in the capital.
Earlier on Monday, BNP wrote Dhaka Metropolitan Police seeking permission of holding the grand rally at Nayapaltan or Suhrawardy Udyan but DMP gave permission to hold it at Golapbagh ground.
On July 22, Mirza Fakhrul announced to hold a grand rally in Dhaka on July 27 as part of the party's one-point movement with the goal to oust the government to hold the next general election under a neutral caretaker government.
