Senior Asst Secy Nazia Sultana dies of dengue

SM Nazia Sultana, Senior Assistant Secretary (WTO Wing) of Finance Ministry, died after being affected by dengue virus on Tuesday morning. 

She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Birdem Hospital in the capital. She was pregnant of eight months. 

Finance Minister Tipu Munshi and Senior Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh expressed their deep shock at her demise.

Earlier on Monday, nine dengue patients died and 2,293 were admitted to different hospitals in the country.

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Outbreaks of the disease are usually seasonal, peaking during and after the rainy season.
