6 killed as microbus, auto-rickshaw collide in Sylhet

Six people were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sylhet on Thursday morning. 

The accident occurred on Sylhet-Bholagnj road at Salutikor area under Gowainghat upazila.  

Of the deceased, three were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Md Kalon, 35, microbus driver Abu Taher, 50 and Mawlana Kazi Amir Uddin, 42, teacher of Parua Anwara High School and College in the upazila.

The injured were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. 

Source said, the microbus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw fell into the road side ditch after a head-on collision, leaving six people dead on the spot and five others injured.

Mohammad Johir, Sub Inspector of Salutikor police investigation centre, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
