The body of a student of Dhaka Residential Model College was recovered from Piyain River in Jaflong of Sylhet on Saturday morning, two days after he had gone missing.
Deceased Alwaz Arash, 15, was a ninth grader at the institution and son of police inspector Zahedul Hossain, a resident of Shidlai village in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla.
Gowainghat Police Station officer in-charge KM Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier, Arash and his father went to the water in Piyaing River to take a bath on Thursday afternoon but went under the water.
Later, local people managed to rescue Zahedul but Arash went missing.
