299 killed, 544 injured in road accidents during Eid holidays

At least 299 people were killed and 544 others injured in road accidents across the country during Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samiti said this at a press conference at Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association in the capital on Saturday morning.

Md Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, Secretary General of the organization, said like previous years, their road accident monitoring cell have made a report.

According to the report, 277 road accident took place across the country in the last 15 days from June 22 to July 6, he said.

During the period, at least 25 people were killed and 10 others injured in 25 railway accidents. Besides, 16 people were also killed and 15 others injured in 10 waterways accidents, Mozammel added.
