4 killed as truck, ambulance collide in Gopalganj

Four people were killed and four others injured when a truck collided with an ambulance in the Sadar upazila of Gopalganj on Thursday morning.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Arambagh area around 7:30am. 

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Md Jabed Masud, Officer-in-charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

He said, the ambulance was on its way to Dhaka from Khulna when it collided head-on with the truck laden with an excavator coming from opposite direction.

On information, members of police and fire service rushed to the spot and recovered eight injured people. Of the injured, one died on the way to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital while three others died after reaching there, the OC added.
