Jhalakathi oil-laden tanker fire under control

The fire that broke out in an oil-laden tanker after an explosion in Sugandha River in Jhalakathi was brought under control on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters' 12 units fully brought the fire under control around 6 am, fire service official Zillur Rahman confirmed.

An explosion occurred afresh in 'Sagar Nandini-2' vessel during oil removal from it in Kheyaghat area of the district town on Monday morning, two days after a blast in it. 

Some 15 people, including 10 police members, received burn injuries in the incident.

Of them, three were sent to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka and 11 are undergoing treatment Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital.

Earlier on Saturday, a blast happened in the same tanker and in the incident, four people went missing whose bodies were, later, recovered.
