Awami League has selected Chattogram city Jubo League convener Md Mohiuddin Bachchu to contest the by-elections to Chattogram-10 constituency.
The decision was taken in the meeting of AL's nomination board at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka on Monday night.
Later, the party General Secretary Obaidul Quader briefed the reporters about the nomination.
The by-elections to Chattogram-10 constituency is scheduled to be held on July 30.
The seat (Double Mooring-Halishahar-Khulshi-Katalganj) fell vacant following the death of lawmaker Afsarul Amin on June 02.
