A dacoit was killed in an alleged gunfight with police on Kaliganj-Jibonnagar road at Katakali area of Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah early Saturday.The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Police also recovered some homemade arms from the spot.Additional Police Superintendent in Jhenaidah, Azbahar Ali Sheikh confirmed the incident to the reporter.He said, a gang of robbers were taking preparation to commit robbery keeping the tree on Kaliganj-Jibonnagar road. Being informed, a team of police rushed to the spot. Sensing the presence of the police, the dacoit opened fire on them. In reply, police also fired on them and an unidentified dacoit was killed on the spot. The dead body was brought to Maheshpur police station, he added.
