Bangladeshi booked for flying drone near Delhi’s Akshardham temple

The Delhi Police on Monday detained a 33-year-old photographer from Bangladesh for allegedly flying a drone near Delhi’s Akshardham Temple, a no-flying zone in the city. The police identified the woman as Momo Mustafa and said that she was booked for violating public order and later released, reports The Indian Express. 

“We received information regarding a flying drone near Akshardham Temple, East Delhi, and sent a police team. A woman, Momo Mustafa, was found with a drone. Since she was using the equipment in a no-flying zone, a case was registered. Also, she did not have any permission from competent authority and was found violating Section 188 IPC [disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant],” Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Amrutha Guguloth said.

Mustafa was using the drone to click pictures of the temple and the area, the police said. A graduate from Bangladesh who is in the photography business, she came to India on May 25 on a tourist visa of six months and will be returning on July 5, the police added.
