Nadeem murder: Babu, 3 others handed over to Bakshiganj police

Four people including Mahmudul Alam Babu, the chairman of Sadhurpara union parishad at Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur, who were arrested in journalist Golam Rabbani Nadeem murder case, were handed over to Bakshiganj Police Station early Sunday. 

Sohel Rana, Officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) took them to the police station early in the morning. They will be produced before the court with seven-day remand prayer. 

Earlier on Saturday, Babu and four others were arrested from Panchagarh and Bogura.

On Friday night, Babu was temporarily suspended from the post of General Secretary of Sadhurpara union Awami League over his alleged involvement in the journalist murder.

Journalist Nadeem, Jamalpur district correspondent of online news portal Banglanews24.com, died on Thursday, a day after he was injured in an attack by miscreants.

Locals and family sources said miscreants attacked Nadeem in Pathati area of Bakshiganj Bazar in the district on Wednesday night on his way home after professional duty.

His wife Monira Begum earlier alleged that the men of Sadhurpara UP chairman Babu carried out the attack on him over publishing news.
