2 Bangladeshis die in printing press fire in Malaysia

Two Bangladeshi workers died and four others suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a printing press at Bandar Baru Bangi area in Selangor state of Malaysia early Thursday (local time). 

Mohamadul Ehsan Mohammad Jein, Assistant Operation Director of Selangor State Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed the matter.

He said being informed about the fire at 4:15am, 36 staffs from Bandar Baru Bangi, Kajang, Semenyih and Serdang Fire and Rescue Stations rushed to the spot and took the fire under control at 4:48am.

“Six Bangladeshi workers were trapped after the fire originated in the printing press. Four of them were rescued alive and the rest two died,” the officials of the fire stations said. 

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police.

The two people died on the spot due to smoke inhalation, Mohamadul added.
