5 burnt in gas line blast in Dhaka’s Wari

Five people suffered burn injuries in a gas line explosion at Tipu Sultan Road area in Dhaka’s Wari in the wee hours of Wednesday. 

The explosion occurred around 2:30am. 

The injured are Md Sumon alias Helal, 40, Abdur Rashid, 65, Md Mamun, 50, Md Sohel, 35 and Md Anwarul, 21. 

They were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).

Md Bachchu Miah, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Dr Tariqul Islam, Resident Surgeon of the SHNIBPS, said Sohel suffered 80% burn injuries, Mamun 12%, Anwarul 22%, Helal 10% and Rashid 7%. They all have been kept in observation.  

Of the injured, Anwarul and Sohel are in critical condition, the doctor said.
