The Bangladesh government reported one COVID-19 death and 197 cases in the last 24 hours (from Monday 8 am to Tuesday 8 am).
With this, the total number of fatalities rose to 29,451, and infections stood at 20,39,911.
The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Tuesday.
The new cases were found after testing 3,065 samples in the past day.
During the period, 42 patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 20,06,437.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
