BNP to hold sit-in in front of electricity offices on June 8

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold a sit-in programme in front of electricity offices at all districts across the country on June 8 protesting the ongoing loadshedding and alleged corruption in electricity sector.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a press conference held at the party’s central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan on Tuesday noon.

The decision to hold the programme was taken at the party’s standing committee meeting on Monday. 

Rizvi said, they will hold a sit-in programme in front of the electricity offices at all districts from 11am to 12pm on June 8. They will submit memorandums in this regard on that day.

Dhaka city south unit of BNP convener Abdus Salam, swechchasebak affairs secretary Meer Sarafat Ali Sapu, publicity secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, assistant organizing secretary Selimuzzaman Selim were, among others, present during this time.
