Four people were killed and two others injured as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Naogaon on Monday.
The accident took place on Naogaon-Rajshahi regional road at Hat Choukgori area in Mohadevpur upazila around 1:30pm.
Of the deceased, three were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Pappu Sarder, 50 of Chalkpathuria village in Naogaon Sadar upazila, Nazmul Islam, 22 of Khalishakuri village in Sirajganj Sadar upazila and Tanveer Ahmed Chowdhury of Satikabari village in the upazila.
Police and local source said a Rajshahi-bound truck hit the auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving four people dead on the spot and two others injured. Later, members of the fire service rushed to the spot and recovered them.
Mozaffar Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Mohadevpur Police Station, said one of the injured was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue of Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
