A court in Cumilla on Sunday sentenced five people to death in a schoolboy murder case.
The condemned convicts are Md Sujan Mia, 25, Al Amin, 30, Sohel Mia, 25, Md Shahin Mia, 27 and Md Shohag Mia, 28.
Additional District and Sessions Judge 5th Court Judge Zahangir Hossain handed down the verdict.
The court also awarded two accused jail terms in the lawsuit, additional public prosecutor Md Rafiqul Islam told Jago News.
He said Ashiqur Rahman, an eighth grader, was called out of home and killed by slitting his throat in Homna upazila in 2012 over a love affair.
Later, his father Harun Bhuiyan lodged a case with Homna Police Station in this connection.
