A woman and her two minor children were burnt to death and another was injured in a fire in Chattogram city early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Nur Nahar Begum, 30, wife of Manik Mia, a resident of East Shahid Nagar in Bayezid Bostami area of the city, their daughter Firia, 3, and son Maruf, 2, while the injured is Imam Uddin, 23, but his detailed identity could not be known.
Bayezid Bostami fire station official Md Kamruzzaman said a fire broke out in a few homesteads in East Shahid Nagar area around 4:30 am, leaving four injured.
Being informed, the firefighters, later, went to the spot and doused the fire around 5:50 am, he said, adding that they also sent the four injured to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Later, three out of four succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of CMCH, the facility Police Outpost in-charge SI Nurul Asheque told Jago News.
