Singer Noble remanded in fraud case

A court in Dhaka on Saturday placed singer Mainul Ahsan Noble on a day remand in a fraud case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir passed the order after police produced him before the court, seeking a three-day remand.

Earlier this morning, Noble was taken to the office of the Police's Detective Branch at Minto Road in Dhaka and was questioned over a few allegations raised against him recently.

Later, he was shown arrested in the case filed with Motijheel Police Station. 

On May 16, Md Safayet Islam, a representative of “SSC Batch 2016” of Bhedarganj Headquarter Pilot High School in Shariatpur, filed the lawsuit. 

According to the case statement, Noble received Tk 172,000 in advance to perform at a cultural event. Later, he didn’t attend the programme and embezzled the money.
