Singers, air hostesses behind Noble's drug addiction: Ex-wife

Several singers and air hostesses are behind singer Mainul Ahsan Noble's drug addiction, claimed his former wife Mehruba Salsabil Mahmud.

They supplied drugs to him, she said in reply to a question from journalists at the office of the Police's Detective Branch at Minto Road in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.

About torture and coming to the DB office, Salsabil said, "Noble would torture me coming home after taking drugs. One day, I called the police by dialing National Emergency Service 999 and they rescued me and admitted me to a hospital.

"Noble admitted in front of the police members that he beat up me due to being drunk after taking drugs and then, I filed a general diary with Gulshan Police Station. Though, no measure was taken subsequently."

Salsabil said she was given threats from different mobile numbers as she spoke out in this regard but she did not reveal the name of anyone involved in the incident.

She also said she today complained verbally to DB police and the officials informed her that they will look into the matter with importance.

Earlier at Rajarbag Police Lines, DMP Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruk said singer Mainul Ahsan Noble will not sing songs at different programs after taking advance money.

A case was filed against him on such an allegation and the Detective Branch apprehended him in the lawsuit, he added.
