A court in Narail on Sunday sentenced five people to life-term imprisonment in a murder case.
The lifers are Md Faizur Molla, Faruk Molla, Kamal Khan, Ashikur Rahman and Fasiar Molla, residents of Satbaria village under Panchgram union in Kalia upazila.
Additional District and Session Judge Md Akram Hossain pronounced the verdict. He also fined them Tk 30,000 each.
The court's public prosecutor advocate Alamgir Siddique said the accused hacked Sobhan Farazi, a resident of Satbaria village, to death on April 10 of 2010.
Later, the victim's brother Jalil Farazi filed a case with Kalia Police Station naming 26 people.
