Mamunul Haque gets bail in 3 more cases in HC

The High Court has granted bail to former Joint Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam Mawlana Mamunul Haque in three more cases over clash with police and vandalism.

The HC bench of Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice Ahmed Sohel passed the order on Tuesday, his lawyer Sagir Hossain Liyon confirmed to Jago News.

Lawyers of Mamunul Haque said 41 cases were filed against him and out of these, he, so far, secured bail in 20 ones.

On April 18, 2021, a joint team of Tejgaon division police and DMP’s Detective Branch arrested Mamunul from Jamia Rahmania Arabia madrasa in Mohammadpur.

The following day, he was shown arrested in a case filed on March 7 of 2020 over vandalism by activists of the Qawmi madrasa-based organization in Mohammadpur. 

He was also shown arrested in 16 other cases filed with Paltan, Motijheel and Narayanganj’s Sonargaon police stations.
