The price of soybean oil has been increased by Tk 12 per litre, Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners & Vanaspati Manufacturers Association said in a press release on Thursday.
Biswajit Saha, Director of the country’s leading edible oil marketing company City Group, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said the price of edible oil has been adjusted through discussion with the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners & Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, the Ministry of Commerce and the Bangladesh Trade Tariff Commission as the government’s VAT exemption period on the import of edible oil ended on April 30.
As per the revised price, consumers will now have to pay Tk 199 for a one litre bottle of soyabean oil. The loose soybean oil price has been fixed at Tk 176 and palm oil (super) at Tk 135.
