BNP leader Mahbubur Rahman shifted to ICU

Former army chief and BNP standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Combined Military Hospital (ICU) in Dhaka.  

He was admitted to the hospital on April 30.

The BNP leader has been suffering from different old age complications for long.

BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Mahbubur resigned from the party post in 2019. 

He took office as the chief of Bangladesh army on May 20, 1996. After retirement from service, he engaged with BNP’s politics.  

He was elected from Dinajpur-2 constituency in 2001. He became BNP standing committee member in December in 2007.
