Three held over murder of Jubo League, BCL leaders

Police have detained three people in connection with the murder of two former local leaders of Jubo League, and Bangladesh Chhatra League in Lakshmipur.

Additional police superintendent (Lakshmipur Sadar circle) Md Sohel Rana confirmed the matter to Jago News around 3 pm on Thursday.

He said they, in a drive, detained the three people and were questioning them over the murder. But the official could not inform about the identities of the detainees. 

Earlier on Tuesday night, terrorists shot former general secretary of the district unit Jubo League Abdullah Al Noman and former organizing secretary of the district unit BCL Rakib Imam dead on Nagerhat road under Bashikpur union in Sadar upazila.

Later, Noman's elder brother and Bashikpur UP chairman Mahfuzur Rahman filed a case against 18 named and 15 unknown people with Chandraganj Police Station in this connection.

However, the prime accused of the lawsuit Abul Kashem Jihadi is the vice president of Chandraganj Thana Awami League and former chairman of Bashikpur UP.

There is an allegation that he has been committing terror acts in the locality for around two decades by forming a group.
