A Dhaka court has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation into a case filed over the death of BUET student Fardin Noor Parash.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shanta Islam Mallik passed the order after Fardin’s father Kazi Nuruddin Rana filed a no-confidence petition against the DB report clearing Amatullah Bushra, an accused of the case, of murder charges.
The court also ordered CID to submit a report in this regard on May 24.
Earlier on February 6, DB police Inspector and the investigation officer of the case Yeasin Shikder submitted a final report to the court.
Fardin, a third-year student of the Civil Engineering department of BUET, went missing on November 5 last year.
On the same day, his father Kazi Nuruddin Rana, a resident of Noyamati area in Fatulla of Narayanganj, filed a general diary with Rampura Station in Dhaka about his missing.
On November 7, naval police recovered his body from Shitalakhya river in Narayanganj.
Later, Kazi Nuruddin lodged a case against Bushra and some unnamed people with the same police station accusing them of killing Fardin and covering up his body.
On March 16 this year, Bushra was granted permanent bail in the case.
