The makers of Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 on Friday dropped an action-packed ‘monster cut’ video as a salute to the spirit of the fan-favourite gun-toting protagonist Rocky Bhai on the film’s first anniversary.
“The most powerful promise kept by the most powerful man KGF 2 took us on an epic journey with unforgettable characters and action. A global celebration of cinema, breaking records, and winning hearts. Here's to another year of great storytelling,” the Twitter handle of Hombale Films wrote alongside the video.
In the two-minute-five-second-long video, the makers have teased the prospect of a third chapter in the KGF franchise. “Where was Rocky between 1978-1981?” flashed in one of the scenes. “Mother of all collisions is yet to be witnessed,” it also said. The video plays KGF: Chapter 2’s climax in reverse, hinting that the events of the film may get reversed in the next film.
Sanjay Dutt, who was part of this period action thriller, posted a series of tweets sharing his experience of working in the film. “Working on KGF: Chapter 2 has been an incredible experience for me. As some of you may know, I have had my share of personal challenges, and at times it seemed like the road ahead was too difficult to navigate. However, being on the set of KGF: Chapter 2 and seeing the passion and dedication of everyone involved in the project inspired me to overcome my challenges and emerge stronger and better,” he wrote.
“From the moment I stepped on the set, I was welcomed with open arms by the talented cast and crew who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. Yash is now a brother to me, and our director Prashanth Neel is an incredible talent who I'm sure will go on to do great things. As the film completes a year, I am overwhelmed by the love and appreciation that we have received from all of you. Your support has been the driving force behind the success of KGF Chapter 2, and I cannot thank you enough for it,” he added.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 emerged as the biggest hit of 2022, grossing over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide. Prashanth is currently working on his next film Salaar, headlined by Prabhas. The filmmaker recently announced that he would be collaborating with Jr NTR for the actor’s next film NTR 31.
