The Election Commission (EC) has appointed 22 executive magistrates to perform duty in the by-election to Chattogram-8 constituency.
Of them, sixteen will perform duty from April 6 to 25 while six others will work from April 26 to 28.
Md Atiar Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the EC, said this information on Saturday.
A letter has been sent to Chattogram Deputy Commissioner and the District Magistrate in this regard, he said.
The by-election to the Chittagong-8 constituency - left vacant following the death of Awami League MP Moslem Uddin Ahmed - will be held on April 27. The voting will start at 8am and will continue till 4pm.
Moslem Uddin, a freedom fighter and also president of Chittagong South unit of Awami League, breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on February 6. He was 75.
