Former adviser of the caretaker government and renowned businesswoman Rokia Afzal Rahman has passed away. She was 82.
She died in her sleep at the Mt. Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore early Wednesday (local time).
She left behind three children - two daughters and a son - and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
Her body will be flown back to Bangladesh on Thursday evening, her family members said.
Rokia served as the chairman of the board of directors of the Asian University for Women Support Foundation in Bangladesh. She was also the founding president of the Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs.
