Massive fire breaks out at Bangabazar market

A massive fire broke out at Bangabazar market in the capital Dhaka early Tuesday.

On information, fifty units of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the flame. 

A joint support team of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Navy are also working to control the fire.

The fire originated at the market at 6:10am. 

Rafi Al Faruk, Duty Officer of the fire service, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, he said. 

However, three fire service members were injured while discharging their duties at the spot. 

They are Md Atikur Rahman Razon, 35, Md Rabiul Islam Antor, 38 and Md Mehedi Hasan, 35.

Atik and Rabiul were admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Mehedi was sent to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
