A female student of North South University was killed as a covered van rammed a motorcycle in Lalbagh of capital Dhaka on Friday night.
Deceased Sanzida Akhter Tamanna, 27, was BBA final year student. She was the daughter of Abu Taher, a resident of Sonamuri upazila of Noakhali, and lived in Kamrangichar of Dhaka.
Lalbagh Police Station sub-inspector Akter Hossain said a covered van hit a motorcycle the student was riding in Beribadh area around 10 pm, leaving her injured.
Later, she was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead around 12 midnight, he added.
Police seized the covered van but its driver managed to flee, the SI also said.
