Search engine giant Google is celebrating the 53rd Independence Day of Bangladesh with a special doodle.
The doodle, featuring the national flag of Bangladesh, has been seen above the search box on the homepage of Google since early Sunday.
In 2013, Google, for the first time in its history, posted a special Doodle for Bangladesh on its 43th Independence Day.
The Independence Day kicks off with a thirty-one gun salute to honour those who fought for Bangladesh's freedom.
The day is a public holiday.
On March 26, 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh’s independence following the crackdown on unarmed Bangalis on March 25 midnight by the then Pakistan occupation army.
