Interpol accepts letter to issue red notice against Arav Khan: IGP

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has accepted a letter sent by Bangladesh police to issue a red notice to bring back Rabiul Islam Apon alias Arav Khan, who is a fugitive accused in a case filed over the murder of Special Branch Inspector Md Mamun Emran Khan in 2018.

Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun told this to the journalists after inaugurating an outpost of Kotwali Police Station at Enayetbazar in Chattogram on Monday noon.

He said a letter was sent by police to the Interpol to issue a red notice against Arav Khan, who is living in Dubai, UAE.

“I have been informed that the Interpol has received the letter,” the IGP said.

In a reply to a question, the IGP said we are also investigating if any police officer is involved in his escape.

It is mentionable that, after the murder of police officer, Rabiul allegedly fled to India and secured an Indian passport under the name of Arav Khan, and went to Dubai.

Arav Khan recently came to the limelight with the inauguration of jewelry shop in Dubai.
