A court in Dhaka has granted police two days to interrogate Jubo Dal general secretary Abdul Monayem Munna in a case filed for alleged subversive acts.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Tofazzal Hossain gave the order after police had presented him before the court, praying for a seven-day remand.
His lawyer Mohiuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
Earlier, police detained Munna from Shahjahanpur in the capital on Wednesday evening.
He was held hours after his speech in a discussion on BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's 17th imprisonment day at the Institution of Engineers in the capital.
Later, he was shown arrested in a case filed on December 7 last year for allegedly committing subversive acts in Shahjahanpur Police Station area.
